walnut tv display stand

Some friends had several walnut boards that came from a family farm, and wanted a TV table made from them for one of their daughters. Since the boards were only 3/4″ thick and I wanted the wood to stand out visually, I added a 2″ tall beveled frame around the top. The base is 2″ and 1″ welded angle iron with wax finish.

Years ago I had to remove a cherry tree which grew where my workshop was going to be built. I had the log sawn into boards and let air dry in my shop and for years pondered about I would make with them. The log had a slight curve which translated to the boards, so I decided to make a dining table and keep the natural curve in the design. The minimalist steel base keep the open space between the boards.
